Massage Therapy
Some of the different types of massage therapies available at out clinic:
Swedish Massage is a basic full body
massage. A massage therapist can do a deeper massage so as to fix, alleviate or treat issues
with muscles in the body or can massage with only the intent to relax and
make you feel nice, but not really fixing any problems in the body.
Deep Tissue is a style that is very similar
to Swedish, but often uses different techniques to get deeper into the muscle. A rather unique technique to deep tissue gets
deep into the muscles that are immediately next to and parallel the spine.
Myofascial is a type of massage that,
although feeling only, for the most part, that a deep stretch is being done, is
a very deep tissue massage. It doesn’t
hurt like deep tissue can. It can be
used to treat Frozen Shoulder, difficulties breathing, Sciatica and is great
for an area that is painful and needs a deep massage, but too painful for
regular types of massage or clients who are too sensitive in general for Deep
Tissue.
Chiropractic Massage is a form of massage intended to
be used in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments. It is ideally gotten just before or after a
Chiropractic adjustment to either make the chiropractic adjustment easier
and/or last longer. This is very much
only a regional massage and is only done in 15 to 30 minute sessions. It is ideally gotten from a massage therapist before the adjustment
for maximum benefit. This form of
massage requires the client to wear some clothes, as gym shorts and a tank top
(for women).
Ayurvedic Head Massage is an ancient East Indian head,
neck and shoulder massage that can and often does utilize special oils that can
treat any scalp condition including graying hair, balding hair, dandruff,
greasy hair and dry hair. I have also
used it to cure headaches with a high consistency.
Hand and Foot Reflexology is an oriental style of hand and
foot massage that teaches that the body is reflected in the hands and feet and
thus, most any body problem, pain or complaint can be treated by working on the
corresponding point in the feet and hands; from internal organs, the eyes and
other specific body parts, to headaches and the diaphragm.
